Alejandro Grau

Welcome Dr. Alejandro Grau to our North Florida Animal Hospital team! Dr. Grau got his Bachelor of Science in Biological Engineering with a focus on Agricultural Production from the University of Florida in 2017 and then graduated from the University of Florida in 2021 with his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. He further continued his education at UF with a Specialty Internship in Food Animal Reproduction and Medicine.

Dr. Grau's interests include: Ruminant medicine and surgery, including herd health and reproductive management. Reptile medicine and husbandry. Exploring the human-animal bond as it pertains to animal welfare, client education, and health benefits through human-animal interactions. And expanding interest in advanced imaging modalities.

Like many doctors, Dr. Grau has many personal pets -  4 cats (Finny, Colby, Nala, Milo), 1 dog (Duncan), 2 Lewisi hybrid blue iguanas (Drax and Mantis), 2 Rhino iguanas (Hella and Loki), 1 Bell’s Phase Lace Monitor (Oreo), and too many snakes to count.

Some interesting facts about Dr. Grau are that he is addicted to learning, which is why he became a pilot at 18 years old, pursued engineering as his bachelors, and continued with a specialty internship after veterinary school. He hopes to continue expanding his science-based education in sonography and surgery to help provide best medicine practices to his patients. And also, he is married to Dr. Fogler!
